OK, it's all about the critters, but it’s also about the season. Bubbles Below has been offering scuba charters around Kauai and Niihau for 32 yrs. which has given us ample time to find patterns in the ecological system.
We can tell you if you wish to find a newly settled yellow Commerson’s frogfish, you should dive here in Jan/Feb. Also in Feb. the mantas congregate in large schools off of Niihau’s shores. With lots of humpbacks in the area, the combination makes for unforgettable charters. Mantas and whalesharks, book with us several weeks after the coral spawn in May. Baitballs are a July/Aug/Sept event typically. Of course we can’t guarantee them, but at least you are in the right season and greatly increase your chances.
Our dives are all led by a divemaster/Instructor who is also a naturalist and who wishes to share the marine “critters” with you. Our Niihau dives have a well deserved world class reputation, but the diversity of species you encounter on our local Kauai dives can be unparalleled. We dive many areas no other companies offer, giving us the “encounter advantage”. Secret, less dived sites have consistently more to offer!
